AMVETS Post 43 Mission
To Assist and Inform Afghanistan, Iraqi, and the Global War On Terrorism Veterans. To fulfill the inform part of their mission the post plans to email a ten to fifteen page bulletin titled CT FOB SitRep Bulletin monthly and to e-mail electronic copies of a four to eight page newsletter titled CT FOB SitRep Newsletter four times a year. The bulletin will have one or two Post 43 pages but will be comprise of attachments provided by veteran’s organizations and organizations that support veterans. The newsletter will highlight the activities of the post and provide information about its members. Leaders from the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, representatives from the OEF/OIF Task Force, and veterans from allied veterans groups will be invited to submit articles related to the mission of the post for the newsletter. Important flyers from other sources will be sent as attachments (in pdf format) with the newsletter when file size permit. The bulletins and newsletters are available on the Resource page. AMVETS Post 43 formed a new committee at the last post meeting, â€œIn The Line OF Dutyâ€ Committee, and made Micah Welintukonis (a combat wounded veteran who was at Walter Reed) the chairman, so he could continue the program that he created to provide grants to the families of deceased or severely wounded/injured military, police, firefighters, and paramedics.
