Post 24 Provides services to our Veterans and community in the following areas:

Americanism:  Helps Bantam American Legion Post 44 with their monthly All Wars Ceremony.  Transport veterans on a weekly basis.  Visit hospitalized, injured and ill veterans.   Members participate in 6 area parades and services annually.  School Flag poster and essay contests along with support of the JRROTC of Torrington High School.

Military Funeral Honors:  Our members assist the Northwest Connecticut Military Final Honors Squads in performing these services.  The assistance is through the Veteran Service Office of Torrington and American Legion Post 38.

Holiday Fund:  Provide food, gift cards and assistance to local less fortunate veterans and their families.  This is done in partnership with American Legion Post 38, VFW Post 9086, Marine Corps League of Canaan and numerous donations from the community, business and personal donations.

Heroes on Wheels:  We accept donated wheel chairs from the community and refurbish them, install new batteries as needed and issue to veterans or their family members.
