Yes! I want to join AMVETS!
Presently we are building a form for this page. If you follow the link for How to Join AMVETS use the membership form. If you would like to find out about a Post near you. Either email the 1st Vice Commander or a Post from the Connecticut Post Directory.
I certify that I have met the minimum membership requirements - that I served honorably (since September 15, 1940), or am currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard or Reserves.
Membership strength helps make programs and services available to veterans, active and reserve persons. Your membership will give us clout as we represent Veterans' interests on Capitol Hill. For as little as $19.00, you can become an annual member of the fourth largest veteran's service organization that works to preserve all veterans rights and earned entitlements. As a member of AMVETS, you will receive a subscription to The National AMVET Magazine, eligibility for significant discount programs, representation on Capitol Hill, a strong voice at the Veterans Administration, and solidarity with your fellow veterans. The AMVETS Post, in its own community anywhere in the nation, is the basic unit of the AMVETS Organization. Posts vary in size from the newly chartered, with a minimum of 10 members, to more than 2,000. Each Post conducts its local programs and participates in the AMVETS State Department and the National Organizational activities. You are eligible for membership in AMVETS, if you have served in the Armed Forces of the United States at anytime after September 15, 1940, (including wartime merchant marines, (with DD214) and members of the National Guard and the reserves) and have an HONORABLE DISCHARGE (as evidenced by a DD Form 214). Current Active Duty, Reserve or Guard service members are also eligible and welcomed as AMVETS. There is no requirement to have served in a combat area or combat theatre. In fact, your service could have been entirely during time of peace, and you are still eligible. AMVETS welcomes all those currently serving in our Armed Forces, active or reserve and all veterans who served after 15 Sep 1940.
